Natasha Khan: glittery eyes & a magical, gypsy soul.

BAT FOR LASHES @ The Fonda, Los Angeles: 2013
APRIL 23rd, Natasha Khan changed my life. She was so magical and brave and I am still over the moon. I can’t believe I finally was able to see her live after so many years of following and growing with her music, and she was by far the best live act I’ve seen yet. She was so lovely and playful, emotional and compelling all at once with her passion and had EVERYONE dancing. Her voice was phenomenal and even more powerful in person. I teared up when she came on stage and began to sing “Lillies”, because there’s something SUPER emotional and moving about that part in the song where she sings: THANK GOD I’M ALIVE! I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, her music just makes me feel.
I’m going to dig my claws into the memory of this night and never, ever let go because it feels like a dream still, and I thank her so much for that. <3
Last night’s parties and last night’s horrorshow
Smiling and whirling and kissing all I know,
Give my soul, give my soul, sing it free across the sea.
A lonely spell to conjure you, but conjure hell is all I do.

“I think creatively I’m fairly spontaneous. I think it’s really important to follow your gut instincts and your heart when you’re on the brink of making something because if you become too pragmatic in your mind about things, I think you can often kill the playful, inquisitive energy that it takes to make something interesting.” -Natasha Khan (x)
four days till i get to see this magical lady.
i can hardly believe it.
